Recent index entrant Essar Energy is also strong after an initiation note from JPMorgan Cazenove was published with an overwieght rating for the Indian oil company. Standard Chartered has disappointed the market by saying its interim income will be the same as last year. The bank claims that economic conditions continue to improve even though market volatility has hit sentiment. RBS has been knocked by negative comment from Nomura.
