FTSE 100 movers: Reckitt Benckiser up on plan for drugs arm

Household goods group Reckitt Benckiser climbed after it unveiled plans to hive off its drug arm into a separate UK-listed company. The rise came despite the group warning of a potentially tough second half.British Sky Broadcasting Group has made an equity investment of around $400,000 in Jaunt, a US early-stage technology company that specialises in video capture and display. The group previously invested $350,000 in December last year.Randgold Resources appeared to cheer investors with its latest update, in which it said it was focusing on its Tongon gold mine in Côte d'Ivoire where it is "continuing to make headway" in its efforts to overcome the technical issues that have affected its performance. Chief Executive Mark Bristow admitted this year's planned ramp-up in production had not been achieved due to the need to expand the flotation circuit and the mechanical failure of the recently installed Vibrocone crushers, intended to improve the recovery and throughput rate. However, while its performance is therefore expected to show a steady improvement in the second half of the year, Tongon's 2014 production is expected to fall within 10% short of its original guidance of 260,000 ounces.Meanwhile, Aberdeen Asset Management fell after it revealed a slight fall in assets under management, totalling £322.5bn at June 30th, down 0.6% from £324.5m at the end of March 2014. RBS shares were also in the red after it was reported that commissioned advisor Morgan Stanley has recommended the bank sell its majority stake in Ulster Bank, which is undergoing a restructuring. The lender's shares rose sharply last Friday on the back of its latest results.
