Financials were sitting firmly in the red this afternoon after a sharp fall in UK inflation failed to prompt much in the way if a reaction from investors. Aberdeen Asset Management and RBS were two of the biggest fallers, with the latter also being pressured lower by a downgrade by Goldman Sachs from 'buy' to 'neutral' following the conclusion of the 'good bank-bad bank' review. Analysts said that the stock now offers just 9% potential upside to its target price of 370p, similar to others in the sector. The decline in risk appetite also hit mining stocks, with Fresnillo, Anglo American and Vedanta all notably lower. Meanwhile, heading the other way was building materials giant CRH after reporting a 2% increase in like-for-like sales in the third quarter, a strong turnaround after a 6% decline in the first half owing to difficult weather conditions. Non-life insurer RSA regained some of yesterday's heavy losses which hit after the company revealed that it has launched an independent review of its financial and regulatory reporting processes and controls following the suspension of its Ireland Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and two of his senior executives. BskyB also regained some of Monday's losses, which saw the company suffer in the the wake of BT's big win of the exclusive rights to broadcast live the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League for three seasons.FTSE 100 - RisersCRH (CRH) 1,609.00p +3.21%RSA Insurance Group (RSA) 110.00p +1.76%Kingfisher (KGF) 392.50p +1.66%British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSY) 840.00p +1.33%Croda International (CRDA) 2,335.00p +1.30%InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) 1,839.00p +1.04%Tate & Lyle (TATE) 820.00p +0.99%Sainsbury (J) (SBRY) 397.40p +0.86%Centrica (CNA) 358.20p +0.82%Aggreko (AGK) 1,583.00p +0.70%FTSE 100 - FallersAberdeen Asset Management (ADN) 416.30p -4.65%Fresnillo (FRES) 916.00p -3.83%Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) 330.40p -2.77%Anglo American (AAL) 1,449.00p -1.70%Petrofac Ltd.
