Friday preview: Tougher comparatives for Euromoney and Experian

Shares in Euromoney Institutional Investor fell 5% on Thursday ahead of the financial publisher and exhibitions organiser's interim management statement on Friday, which may make shareholders nervous.Investec does not seem to be too apprehensive, however, as it is not anticipating "any material change in trading" since the group announced interim results back in May.At that time, the group warned that sales growth could be affected by uncertainty in the Eurozone and the Middle East; neither region has been an ocean of calm since then.Furthermore, year-on-year comparatives are getting tougher to beat, so the statement may well be a cautious one.In contrast, credit checking firm Experian has been fairly bullish in its recent trading updates, but it too is running up against tougher comparatives from now on.The UK & Irish markets are likely to be the slow coaches again, with Latin America set to still occupy the driving seat.
