Fresnillo lowers annual gold production guidance

Fresnillo has lowered its annual gold production forecast by 8.4 per cent to 425,900 ounces.The miner's silver production guidance for the year ended December 31st 2013 remained unchanged. At the same time the company announced that a temporary stay order, requested by the Ejido El Bajio, to avoid the lifting of an explosives suspension in Mexico was turned down by the district court. Ministry of Defense is understood to be analysing court documents and Fresnillo expects a response shortly. "The company is confident that there are no outstanding reasons why the temporary suspension of the explosives permit relating to Herradura and Soledad should not be lifted," Fresnillo said.RD
