MOSCOW (Dow Jones)--Ferrexpo PLC (FXPO.LN), a U.K.-listed, Swiss-registered iron ore miner with operations in Ukraine, said Thursday its first-half 2010 pellet production from own material rose 7.7% from the year-earlier period, while pellet production from third-party concentrate has increased almost 30 times. Ferrexpo said it produced 4.44 million metric tons of pellets from its own material in the first half of 2010, compared to 4.12 million tons the year earlier. The company said it increased pellet production from third-party material to 444,600 tons in the first half of 2010 from just 15,000 tons in the same period of 2009 "to meet ongoing higher demand." This resulted in a total pellet output increase of 18% to 4.89 million tons from 4.14 million tons the year earlier. Production of pellets from third-party ore in June fell 14% from May, while output from own material rose 2.4%, and resulted in total output of 864,200 tons, up from 860,300 tons in May. -By Alexander Kolyandr, Dow Jones Newswires; +7 495 232 9192;
