(Sharecast News) - Investor sentiment across the eurozone improved more than predicted in October, according to the closely followed Sentix gauge on Monday.

The Sentix Investor Confidence Index rose to -5.4 from -9.2 in September, coming in ahead of the consensus forecast of -7.5.

The current situation index rose to -16 from -18.8, while the expectations index tracking predictions for the next six months increased to 5.8 from 0.8.

The gauge tracking investor sentiment in Germany picked up to -17.9 from -22.1, with the expectations measure pushing 6.3 points into positive territory at 2.8. However, the current situation index remained well below zero at -36.5.
