(Sharecast News) - Eurozone inflation ticked up above the European Central Bank's 2% target for the first time since April, according to an official flash estimate published on Tuesday.
Consumer price inflation picked up to 2.1% in August, statistics body Eurostat said. Food, alcohol and tobacco prices rose by 3.2%, while services inflation dipped to 3.1%.
Industrial goods prices were 0.8% higher than a year ago, while energy costs were 1.9% lower on an annualised basis.
