(Sharecast News) - Domino's Pizza was under the cosh on Wednesday as it maintained full-year expectations but reported a slowdown in like-for-like sales growth.
Total system sales in the quarter to September end increased 3.5%, with LFL growth of 2.3%, down from 5.2% and 4.5% growth in the second and first quarters, respectively.
Total orders were up 2.6%, with LFL orders 1.4% higher, down from 2.2% growth in Q2 but above Q1's 0.9% growth.
"Following the positive benefits of the World Cup at the start of the period, we continued to grow in both August and September," Domino's said.
The company said its performance was again driven by growth in both Pizza and Chick 'n' dip, with continued strong sales from its Italianos pizza range. Domino's said Chick 'n' dip continues to perform in line with management's expectations.
The pizza chain said all major cost categories are fixed for FY26 and into FY27, providing good visibility over the cost base. "Combined with our strategic growth initiatives, this gives us confidence in delivering earnings growth in FY27 and beyond," it said.
As a result, it remains confident of achieving its earnings forecasts for the full year, in line with market expectations.
Chief executive Nicola Frampton said: "Our strong performance year-to-date reflects our organic growth strategy and we have been rewarded by our focus on the core Domino's business model. The proof points of our innovation in Italianos and Chick 'n' dip, combined with our fantastic brand, quality franchisee partners and leading supply chain have enabled us to attract more customers, more often whilst achieving more for less.
"Whilst there is a lot of work still to be done, this gives us confidence in achieving our expectations for the full year, while building the foundations for further growth in 2027 and beyond."
At 0915 BST, the shares were down 4.4% at 226.60p.
