Directors dealings: New Tate&Lyle non-exec picks up shares

(ShareCast News) - Tate&Lyle´s recently-named non-executive director Lars Frederiksen picked up a sizeable number of shares less than a week after the company´s first quarter trading update.On 21 July the food ingredients and sweeteners-maker said profit during the first three months of its fiscal year 2017 was ahead of the comparative period at constant currency and it expected earnings to increase strongly if the pound continued to be weak versus the dollar for the rest of the financial year.In a research note dated on that same day analysts at Exane BNP Paribas told clients: "The broadly neutral share price reaction rel. to the market today appears to us to be fair."We highlight that Tate continues to see weakness in the business of some of its larger North American customers."Frederiksen purchased 15,000 shares in the company at an individual price of 698.5p each, in the process forking out a total of £104,775.00.Shares of Tate&Lyle closed Tuesday´s session 1.0% higher to 704.0p, just below their 52-week high of 708.50p.
