Director dealings: Restaurant Group surges on back of directors' share order

(ShareCast News) - Restaurant Group directors ordered sizeable helpings of shares on Tuesday, sending other investors rushing for more of the same.Chief executive Andrew McCue bought 50,000 at 356.7p, spending close to £180,000 before broking costs.Finance director Barry Nightingale picked up 13,617 at 362.5p, and chair Debbie Hewitt just over 7,000 at 354.52p.By 1615 BST shares in the FTSE 250 owner of Frankie & Benny's and Chiquita chains were being traded for 383.5p, a rise of 8.5% on the day.The last news from the company was August's half-year results, when a pre-tax loss of £22.5m was unveiled due to restructuring costs, with the company announcing the closure of 33 outlets.Hewitt, who purchased 17,325 shares at the end of August, said: "The board has moved quickly to undertake a review of the operating strategy and we now have clarity on the issues facing our Leisure brands, particularly Frankie & Benny's."The brand remains relevant and popular and we are confident that improved performance will be achieved by being more customer-focussed and data-driven, and through better operational execution."
