Director dealings: Ocado non-exec spends £2.7m after share plunge

(Sharecast News) - One of Ocado's non-executive directors took advantage of its share price plunge this week, as the company disclosed a purchase worth almost £3m on Friday.

The FTSE 250 company, which develops warehousing technology and runs a grocery delivery firm in partnership with Marks and Spencer, said Apple III Limited bought the shares on Thursday.

Ocado said the Bermuda-domiciled Apple III Limited is wholly-owned by Apple III Trust, of which non-executive director Jorn Rausing is a "discretionary beneficiary".

The company paid 644.79p for each share, spending a total of £2,721,047.56.

Shares in Ocado plunged after it warned of slowing business earlier this week, having peaked at 797p at the close on Monday.

At the close on Friday, they were up 1.13% on the day but still down almost 14% for the week, at 653.37p.
