(Sharecast News) - Consumer engagement and 'gamification' product developer Dev Clever announced on Friday that its new integrated electronic point-of-sale (EPOS) application for the 'Engage' platform was now available for release. The London-listed firm said that, as part of the Oracle Partner Network, it was now able to offer the application to merchants and operators across the hospitality, sports, entertainment, hotel and leisure sectors, for compatible Oracle EPOS systems. It explained that the application enabled merchants and operators to offer fully-integrated consumer incentives controlled by the Dev Clever Engage platform.Merchants and operators would be able to promote specific products and offers to consumers, and instantly reward them for their purchase through the chance to win high value prizes, as well as lower value discounts and repeat purchase incentives. They could define and control their own qualifying parameters for the chance to win.The integrated EPOS application identified qualifying purchases at point-of-sale, and automatically generated - via an application programming interface (API) from the Engage platform - a unique token on the consumer's receipt. That enabled the consumer to participate in the promotion directly from their receipt, using their smart device.Dev Clever said the Engage platform authenticated the unique token, and allowed the consumer to play the instant win game.It described Engage as a cloud-based consumer engagement platform that enabled brands and retailers to deliver discount rewards and voucher-driven customer incentives that were fully controlled by the platform's gamification engine. Its cloud-based infrastructure, which was driven by APIs, enabled it to easily connect with third-party voucher and coupon system providers to offer a "seamless" consumer experience when issuing coupons and vouchers from partner systems, that could be redeemed in stores and venues, the board explained.Dev Clever said it aimsed to grow its Engage EPOS application by offering it to merchants and operators that used compatible EPOS solutions, as part of the Oracle Partner Network, on a global scale. That followed live demonstrations of the application on the Oracle exhibition stand to hospitality and sports customers at the Restaurant Tech Show in London, the SPOBIS conference in Dusseldorf and the Oracle Global Food & Beverage Show in Florida.Merchants and operators could access the Engage EPOS application on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) licence model, which included a set up and customisation fee along with a cost-per-unique-token payment."The Engage EPOS application is a step-change in the way purchase driven incentives are promoted to consumers, replacing the need to give out physical printed tokens to validate a product sale prior to issuing rewards or the chance to win high value incentives," said Dev Clever chief executive officer Chris Jeffries."This application removes the need for human interaction as part of a promotion which reduces risk, increases consumer accessibility and reduces the cost to brands, merchants and operators promoting the incentive."
