(Sharecast News) - British housebuilder Crest Nicholson named former Tate & Lyle chief executive Iain Ferguson as its next chairman on Wednesday, taking over from Stephen Stone.
Ferguson had previously held roles at the Stobart Group, Greggs and Balfour Beatty. He will join Crest Nicholson as non-executive chairman-designate on September 16 but will not become chairman role until October 31.

Crest Nicholson said both it and Stone, who joined the group in 1995, felt that it was the "appropriate time" for him to step down from the board and be succeeded by an independent non-executive chairman.

As of 0830 BST, Crest Nicholson shares had ticked up 0.92% to 373p.
