Cranswick sales surge forward

13th Jul 2010 07:43

Bacon, pork and sausages specialist Cranswick lifted sales by 19%, to £198m, in the last three months, with organic growth up by 6% and 13% coming from acquisition CCF Norfolk. Most products saw strong growth in the quarter to end June, reflecting higher volumes, Cranswick said. There were substantial gains in fresh pork, bacon and sandwiches and continued growth in cooked meats and sausages. Continental products were a weak spot and sales fell. Pig prices rose during the period, but the impact was absorbed through increased volumes and continued operating efficiencies.
