(Sharecast News) - The UK's Competition and Markets Authority said on Monday that it has launched an investigation into Viasat's £6bn takeover of Inmarsat.

US-based Viasat announced last November that it had agreed to buy UK rival Inmarsat.

The CMA said it was launching a review to consider whether the deal could result in a lessening of competition in the UK.

The watchdog invited comments from third parties by 15 August.
