Centrica begins search for next Chairman

FTSE 100-listed global energy and storage giant Centrica has reported that Sir Roger Carr will step down from his role as Chairman on or before the Centrica annual general meeting in May 2014.Sir Roger held his position for 10 years and the group said he had been named by defence and aerospace group BAE Systems as its next Chairman. The search for his successor would be led by the Senior Independent Director, Mary Francis CBE, the group added. Centrica has four businesses comprising British Gas, Centrica energy, Centrica storage and Direct Energy. British Gas supplies gas and electricity to UK residential and business customers providing central heating and gas appliance installation services. Centrica energy sources gas and electricity for residential and business customers in the UK. Centrica storage stores natural gas for European energy producers, traders and suppliers and Direct Energy is one of North America's integrated energy companies.MF
