Central Asia Metals reports rise in Q1 copper output and sales

Central Asia Metals reported a rise in copper production and sales in the first quarter in Kazakhstan.Production at the company's Kounrad operations rose 13.7% to 1,905 tonnes of copper while sales jumped 15.7% to 1,771 tonnes.The company has produced 19,000 tonnes of copper in the 23 months since the start of operations, as a ramp-up of the plant mitigated severe weather conditions during the winter months."Production continued as scheduled during the winter months, and remains in line with anticipated seasonal variations in output as well as with the company's 2014 full year production target of 11,000 tonnes," the firm said.
