Capita wins IT contract

West Sussex County Council has turned to outsourcing giant Capita Group for its information technology (IT) infrastructure needs.Capita has won a seven year contract, initially worth £56m, to provide the council with a high quality, flexible and sustainable IT service at significantly lower cost, the statement said. Jeremy Northeast, head of West Sussex County Council's IT operations, said an improved IT service will "underpin wider organisational transformation and realise significant savings for theauthority." "The flexibility of the Capita solution will also help meet the changing needs of the council going forwards," he added.
