BP Reports Planned Flaring Event At California Refinery

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Flaring will be visible at BP PLC's (BP, BP.LN) refinery in Carson, California, for three days, starting at around 7:35 p.m., PDT Wednesday, according to a filing to California state environmental regulators. While the cause of the flaring is not listed, the report to the South Coast Air Quality Management District says the event is not associated with a breakdown of equipment. The flaring is expected to conclude near midnight on July 2. A company representative wasn't immediately available for comment.
