(Sharecast News) - Heat treatment specialist Bodycote has named Ben Fidler as its next chief financial officer.

Fidler, who is currently deputy chief financial officer of Rolls-Royce, will join Bodycote's board in February 2023 before taking up the role on 1 May.

He replaces Dominique Yates, who is retiring after six years with Bodycote.

Stephen Harris, chief executive, said: "[Ben's] experience as a senior executive at a FTSE 100 company, as well as his in-depth knowledge of our end markets, make him an excellent fit."

Fidler has been at Rolls-Royce for five years, holding the role of deputy finance director since January 2021. Prior to that he worked as an aerospace and defence equity research analyst for 20 years, 18 of which were spent at Deutsche Bank.

Bodycote, which has 165 facilities in 22 countries, specialises in heat treatments that improve the properties of metals and alloys used in a number of industries.
