(ShareCast News) - BMR Mining said Zambia has approved the terms of reference for an environment impact assessment of pilot plans to extract lead and zinc from tailings at its Kabwe mine. BMR said it expects to submit the draft full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) next month, with the aim of securing approval from Zambia's Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) within the end of 2015.The project involves in-depth field studies by experts, the company said, adding it had already completed the majority of data collection."We have been working closely with ZEMA, through our consultants, as we progress towards the submission of our full EIA study," said group chairman and chief executive Alex Borrelli."This initial approval is a further step towards the acceptance of our formal plans for the processing of tailings in our pilot plant."BMR shares were down 5.26% to 4.50p at 1110 BST on Wednesday.
