Big Yellow co-founder to step down

Self storage company Big Yellow Group has announced that Philip Burks, one of its co-founders, is planning to retire from his role as Non-Executive Director at the annual general meeting on July 19th. The position will be filled by Georgina Harvey, who was the Managing Director of the Regionals division of Trinity Mirror from 2005 to 2012, overseeing its transition to a digital platform. Nicholas Vetch, Executive Chairman, said: "Philip and I started work together in 1986 and have been in partnership now for over 25 years. It has been the best of partnerships. "Without Philip's property skills and tenacity, Big Yellow could not have achieved a fraction of its successes. The board joins me in wishing him the best for the future."The share price fell 1.2% to 403p by 09:22 Tuesday.
