BAE Systems Buys Back 700,000 Shares

LONDON (Dow Jones)-- Aerospace and defense firm BAE Systems PLC (BA.LN) said Thursday it has purchased 700,000 of its own ordinary shares on July 7. MAIN FACTS: -BAE Systems intends to hold the purchased shares in treasury; The highest price paid per share was 317.2 pence and the low west price paid per share was 311 pence -Following the purchase of these shares, BAE Systems holds 173.4 million ordinary shares in treasury. -Shares on Wednesday closed at 317.7 pence, valuing the company at GBP1.08 billion. -By Tapan Panchal, Dow Jones Newswires.
