(Sharecast News) - Podcast producer and distributor Audioboom announced on Monday that it was emerging as the fifth largest podcast publisher in the US, according to two industry evaluations.

The AIM-traded firm said recent data from Edison Research placed Audioboom in the fifth position for its weekly audience reach during the second quarter.

At the same time, Triton Digital's ranking identified the company as the fifth-largest in terms of average weekly downloads for the month of July.

Audioboom noted that its surge in the Triton Digital ranking enabled it to surpass US radio titan Cumulus, and left just Amazon and satellite radio broadcaster SiriusXM ahead of Audioboom in both of the industry assessments.

The board said a pivotal driver of its growth in the US had been the consistent and expansive growth of its creator network, adding that it recently celebrated 135 million monthly downloads.

Additionally, it boasted a "record-breaking" audience reach, with more than 38 million distinctive listeners tuning in.

"I'm delighted that we continue to compete strongly with the world's biggest audio companies in the key US market," said chief executive officer Stuart Last.

"We create incredible value for podcast creators through our monetisation, marketing and distribution platform - attracting the best podcasts in the world to our network.

"I'm excited for more top creators to join Audioboom in the second half of 2023, making our podcast network even stronger and even more attractive to advertisers."

At 1340 BST, shares in Audioboom Group were down 3.5% at 193p.
