ASOS Q1 sales sparkle

Online fashion store ASOS revealed a 54% surge in retail sales during the first quarter and remains confident of further progress this year.The group, whose site is targeted towards fashion conscious 16-34 year olds, said retail sales totalled £62m in the quarter ended 30 June 2010 while group revenues bounced 48% to £66m.UK sales increased 32% to £39m while International sales soared 111% to £23m.Commenting on the results, CEO Nick Robertson said, "It is too early in the financial year to assume that these levels of sales will continue for the remaining three quarters; however we remain confident that this year will be another year of excellent progress."
