Artemis NAV back on upward path

Artemis Alpha Trust, the investment company that aims to achieve above average rates of total return over the longer-term and to achieve a growing dividend stream, saw its basic net asset value (NAV) per share slide to 282.38p at the end of July from 298.47p at the end of April.Since the end of the reporting period the NAV has improved and as at 7 September it stood at 290.04p per share.Diluted NAV per share at the end of July was253.46p, down from 266.77p at the end of April and lower than the 7 September value of 260.04p.During the May to July period, the company purchased 137,000 ordinary shares at an average discount of 8.3%. These are being held in treasury.
