Big hits such as 'Avatar', 'Iron Man 2' and 'Sex and the City 2', helped cinema chain Cineworld overcome the competing attractions of the World Cup and lift revenue by 3.7% in the half year to June.Box Office reveneus rose by 4.1% over the 26 weeks, while income from selling 3D glasses, gaming machines, ticket booking fees and screen hires kumped 31.4%. Retail revenue was the one weak spot, with income down by 3.2%.The second half also looks promising Cineworld said with the number of 3Dreleases increasing, in the main to coincide with the school holidays.
