Trading at film industry software developer Zoo Digital this year has been in line with expectations, the company's chairman, Roger Jeynes, said at the annual general meeting on Thursday.Earlier in the day the company announced the availability of its production toolset for iTunes, the proprietary digital media player application from Apple. The new toolset supports the automated production of iTunes Extra content, which iTunes users to buy entire films, scenes from films or even stills from films, as well as the sort of extras normally featured on DVD releases, such as deleted scenes, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage."This is an important development for ZOO that takes us firmly into the growing Electronic Sell Through market and provides us with new revenue streams," said Stuart Green, Zoo's chief executive officer. The company's house broker, FinnCap, hailed the new product as another example of Zoo's ability to save film studio's time and money. "DVD-like extras for online content had previously proved overly costly to studios; ZOO's cost-saving products improve time and cost to market, which enables a previously uneconomic revenue stream," the broker said.
