"Who Wants to be a Millionaire" video games maker Zoo Digital moved into the black as cost conscious consumers stayed at home to watch movies. Zoo said it has seen an, 'encouraging start to current year with a strong pipeline of work as it benefits from a change in consumer habits caused by the global recession. Film studios are also reducing production costs and releasing film on DVD quicker. The AIM-listed group said pre-tax profit came in at £0.2m for the year to 31 March 2009 compared with a loss of £1.9m the year before. Revenue doubled to £6.6m. CEO Stuart Green commented, "There is an increasing focus among our customers on efficiencies and cost savings and I am confident that we will continue to grow profitability in 2009." "Based on continued strong demand for Zoo's products and services, the board remains very positive about the opportunities for the group and believes that 2009 will be another year of growth for our core business," the group added.
