(Sharecast News) - Production group Zinc Media has won its largest-ever USA television series with the working title, Top Gun: The Next Generation.

Zinc Media said on Tuesday that the "major contract win" was worth approximately $9.0m in revenues to the group and was set to be filmed towards the end of the current trading year and throughout 2024.

Final delivery was scheduled for 2025, with the show being produced for National Geographic Channel, a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and the National Geographic Society, and includes direct-to-consumer platforms Disney+ and Hulu.

The AIM-listed group added that it will be produced by REX TV one of Zinc's newest television production companies, launched last year, and post-produced by Zinc's Bumblebee Post Production.

Chief executive Mark Browning said: "This is an outstanding new series which comes with the most exclusive access that Zinc has secured. We have earned the trust of the US Navy because of our global reputation for the highest quality television production.

"This commission will have worldwide appeal and will deliver exhilarating, adrenaline-fuelled television. We are extremely proud of our team's hard work and persistence in securing this significant contract win."

As of 1210 BST, Zinc Media shares were up 4.16% at 90.10p.
