(ShareCast News) - Oil services engineer Wood Group has won a five-year contract extension to provide services on the Hibernia oil field offshore Newfoundland. The contract, with the Hibernia Management and Development Company consortium, offers the potential for two further five-year extensions.Wood Group, which announced a similar contract with HMDC in November 2014, did not say how much the contract would be worth.Via its Eastern Canada operations, in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador, the company will provide engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services to the Hibernia platform."Since first oil in 1997, Wood Group has been the incumbent contractor for many of these services on the Hibernia platform.
