(Sharecast News) - Low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Tuesday that it had carried 4.76m passengers in July, a 61.1% increase year-on-year.

Wizz Air also said capacity grew 40.9% year-on-year in July to 5.3m, while load factor increased 11.2 percentage points to 89.7%.

Carbon dioxide emissions shot up 41.9% to 418,290 tonnes but dropped 15.8% on a per passenger, per kilometre basis to 54.4 grams.

Wizz also announced new routes from Abu Dhabi to the Maldives and Kuwait, as well as routes from the UK Romania, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, and Italy, adding to its winter 2022 schedule.

As of 0805 BST, Wizz Air shares were up 0.04% at 2,243.0p.
