(Sharecast News) - Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air reported an improvement in passenger numbers during April, showing signs of a recovery in the travel market from plunging demand in 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold.
The carrier flew 565,000 passengers last month against 78,382 in April 2020, operating at just 22% of its capacity with a load factor of 59%.
New offshoot Wizz Air Abu Dhabi started flying to Tel Aviv with frequency rising to a daily service from this month, the company said in a statement. New routes to Belgrade and Sohag and Luxor in Egypt were also announced.
