Wincanton awarded three-year contract with Argos

Wincanton, provider of UK supply chains, scored a three-year contract with High Street retailer Argos for its fleet of heavy goods vehicles. Under the contract Wincanton will deploy nationwide repair and maintenance solutions under its Pullman Fleet Services business for around 1,500 vehicles and trailers across seven UK locations. Graham Hunter, Managing Director of Pullman, said: "Argos is one of those retailers that can lay genuine claim to being a household name, and with that band awareness comes an expectation of quality and extremely high standards." Argos, owned by Home Retail Group, added that the scale of Pullman's network was an important factor in awarding the contract as they have 740 stores in across England, Scotland and Wales. No details were given about the financial arrangements of the contract. WS
