UKR expects profit growth

Ukrainian diary products supplier UKR says that its 2010 profit will be at the lower end of market expectations and it may have to pay more tax than previously. AIM-quoted UKR still expects to report an improvement in profit on sales that will be in line with the year before. The second half profit will be nearly double the first half contribution. Pre-tax profit growth will be in low double digits. Ukrainians have been spending less on food and that has made things more difficult. UKR has come under margin pressure but it did manage to increase its prices by more than inflation. Sales of hard cheese recovered in the second half but they are well down on the year. Processed cheese sales were lower.
