(Sharecast News) - Dutch investment group Prosus said on Friday that it has agreed to sell just under 13.6m Delivery Hero shares to Uber Technologies.
The 4.5% stake is being sold at €20 per share, giving Prosus - Delivery Hero's biggest shareholder - total gross proceeds of around €270m.
Prosus announced last year that it was buying Just Eat Takeaway for €4.1bn. However, the European Commission said it would only approve the deal if Prosus significantly cut its holding in Delivery Hero.
Prosus said on Friday that it remains committed to selling the relevant portion of its stake in Delivery Hero within the required timeframe.
Niklas Östberg, chief executive and co-founder of Delivery Hero, said: "We welcome Uber's additional investment in Delivery Hero.
"As a global tech leader, Uber's increased position is a meaningful endorsement of our platform, our strategy, and our ongoing work to deliver long-term value for all shareholders."
