Tullow Oil announced on Tuesday that drilling of one of its majority-owned wells offshore Norway failed to meet targets.Exploration well 31/2-21S on licence 550, which was targeting the Gotama prospect, did not encounter reservoir quality sandstones in the main Upper Jurassic target.The well encountered reservoir quality sandstones in the secondary targets of the Middle Jurassic Sognefjord Formation and Brent Group but these intervals were said to be "water wet".Tullow operates licence 550 with an 80% equity interest. Partners Det Norske and VNG Norge AS both own 10% stakes each.BC
