Tullow Oil has found oil at its Nsoga-5 appraisal well, which is located in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 2.The group said the well has successfully encountered 10 metres of net oil pay after it was drilled to a total depth of 587 metres. The well has since been suspended for future re-entry. The OGEC IRI-750 rig will now move 2 km south to the Kigogole field where it will drill the Kigogole-5 appraisal well. Angus McCoss, Exploration Director, said: "Another successful well in the Butiaba appraisal campaign further enhances our understanding of these high quality stacked fluvial reservoirs and will assist with the basin-wide development plan that Tullow and its new partners will be working on during the second half of 2010."Tullow has interests in three licences in the Lake Albert Rift Basin in Uganda. It operates Block 2 with a 100% interest and has a 50% interest in Blocks 1 and 3A which are operated by Heritage Oil (50%).
