Thursday tips round-up: Domino's Pizza, Topps Tiles, Charles Taylor

Domino's Pizza's trading statement yesterday showed sales up 4.2% in the first quarter, itself a fall on the 4.7% in the first seven weeks of the year. Analysts think this year's figure might struggle to beat 3%. Such growth suggests a more sensible trading multiple, and the shares are on about 22 times this year's earnings. Although the story is still the same long term, short-term progress looks limited, says the Times.The Independent believes Domino's Pizza's valuation makes the pizza delivery group difficult to digest. The newspaper suggests that investors let the price cool down a little before buying further shares.Topps Tiles has been stealing market share from ailing independent retailers in the economic downturn and has about a quarter of the tiles market. Alas, it is not a market that is going anywhere soon. The main drivers are consumer confidence and new housing transactions. The shares, on eight times this year's earnings, are up with events, says the Times.Charles Taylor Consulting (CTC), it is worth pointing out, has nothing to do with the former Liberian president on trial at the Hague, and everything to do with the business of insurance. With an undemanding forward earnings multiple of less than seven times, we think this stock may be worth a punt, says the Independent.Bodycote is one of the world's biggest suppliers of thermal treatment services, with a particularly strong presence in the UK, the US, France, Germany and Sweden. The share price has been recovering from the depths of 2008 when the price was about 100p. The company looks a solid commitment to the improving outlook for a broad range of sectors, from car and truck production to aerospace and energy.
