(ShareCast News) - Travel operator Thomas Cook has appointment Dawn Airey as senior independent director to replace Carly Symon.Airey, who will step into her new role on 1 October and who was currently serving as non-executive director, has also been appointed as a member of the audit committee, the London-listed group said on Wednesday.On 15 June, Symon announced his decision to leave the FTSE 250 group at the end of its financial year."I would sincerely like to thank Carl Symon for his wisdom, support and contribution as a board member and as senior independent director," said group chairman Frank Meysman at the time of the announcement.Thomas Cook shares were up 3.47% to 116.30p at 1546 BST on Wednesday.
