Large trades just before 10am have pushed up the share price of Kofax. The document processing technology provider has doubled in value over the past year. There were five big trades at 240p a share at around the same time. The biggest purchase was worth nearly £4m and all five were worth a total of £8.8m, compared with a market value of around £206m at that price. More than 4% of the share capital has been traded so far today. Yesterday, Kofax revealed that it had won a $300,000 contract with a leading southern European telecoms firm. IT services provider Computacenter reported better than expected figures for 2009 but could not please the market. Adjusted pre-tax profit increased to £54.2m in 2009 compared with £43.1m in the previous year. However, revenues decreased slightly to £2.5bn from £2.56bn. Computacenter is paying a second dividend of 8p a share, bringing the total dividend for the year to 11p, up from 8.2p in 2008. The main negative was the tough economic conditions in Europe. The UK has started the year well but Germany suffered challenging conditions. Panmure Gordon had expected France to breakeven in 2010 but it has revised expectations to a loss before amortisation and depreciation of £2.4m. However, the 2010 earnings per share figure for the group has been raised from 29.2p to 30.1p.
