Software company Micro Focus has been hit by profit-taking today. The share price moved ahead at the end of last week on rumours of a bid from IBM. There has been buying interest in Network Technology, even though it is cancelling its Main Market listing on Friday. The buying has been modest, though. The one trade today was for 55 shares at 800p each. That £440 deal was enough for market makers to mark up the shares. The high price is also a function of a sharply widening spread. The bid/offer spread was 600p/800p but it has widened to 700p/1700p. The company is valued at £250,000.
