BT Group is higher after the accounts of its pension scheme showed that it had performed well last year. The BT Pension Scheme made a 12.2% return on investment and this helped cut the pension deficit from £9bn to £7.6bn. The pension scheme reduced its exposure to shares from 35% to 29% of its portfolio. Consistent selling early this morning has knocked the Filtronic share price. The price of the telecoms components manufacturer has fallen by nearly one-third over the past year. The share price had previously been boosted by Gartmore taking its stake to 9.5%. The price is now back to the level prior to that share purchase. Filtronic has warned that it lost money in the year to May 2010 but it should return to profit in 2010-11.
