(Sharecast News) - Synthomer announced on Friday that it has agreed to sell its Czech acrylate monomers business to Mutares, as the chemicals group continues to simplify its portfolio and focus on higher-margin speciality markets.
The business, based in Sokolov and employing about 300 people, supplies acrylic acid and related monomers to the European merchant market and supports some of Synthomer's downstream operations.
Synthomer said existing supply arrangements with the group would continue under Mutares' ownership.
Acrylate Monomers generated external sales of €68m in 2025 and recorded a standalone adjusted EBITDA loss of €10m, although trading improved to break-even in the first four months of 2026.
The deal is expected to complete at the end of the third quarter, with consideration structured as a cash generation sharing arrangement of up to €12m over three years and no initial payment at closing.
At 1157 BST, shares in Synthomer were down 0.72% at 110p.
