(ShareCast News) - Shares in brake maker Surface Transforms were up by almost a tenth on the news it had been granted certification to supply the mainstream aerospace market.The AIM listed stock rose 9.23% to 13.79p at 0951 BST after it announced it received AS9100 quality certification.Surface Transforms, which makes carbon-ceramic brake discs for planes and cars, said the certification was as scheduled, as part of its £1.3m per year contract with an unnamed mainstream aerospace provider.The company said the project with this customer was on track, and a further opportunity to supply the customer with brakes for helicopters had been identified.An order had been progressed for demo parts to be assessed by this customer and the US Department of Defense, but noted that future generation military contracts take a long time to mature.
