Sirius Minerals has entered into an agreement with the Tanzanian Ministry of Agriculture for its research on polyhalite, which is expected to strengthen its introduction into Tanzania.The AIM-listed mining group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ministry, in order to produce balanced fertilisers, which will be used to improve crop yields in the region.Correct inputs of the fertilisers are anticipated to raise yield and lead to social and economic profits.Chief Executive Officer Chris Fraser said: "Polyhalite from the York Potash Project could significantly improve accessibility to key nutrients across the continent. "This could help to encourage better balanced fertilisation practices, leading to better productivity outcomes for farmers in the region and has the potential to positively impact millions of lives in Africa."The MoU is in line with the UK Government policy of supporting growth in trade with Tanzania and creating growth and jobs for both groups.As of 09:26 the share price was unchanged at 11.5p.WS
