Sir David Arculus, the Non-Executive Chairman of Numis Corporation, has announced his intention to retire, the AIM-listed investment banking and stockbroking group revealed on Friday.Arculus, the former EMAP director who has also served on the boards of Severn Trent, Barclays and Pearson, is to leave Numis in May, having worked there since 2009."It has been truly absorbing to be part of Numis over the last five years, which has been both challenging and hugely rewarding," he said in a statement. "Through the hard work and dedication of its people, the firm successfully navigated the downturn and is now stronger than it has ever been. I wish the firm continued success in the future." Arculus will be replaced by current Numis Non-Executive Director Gerald Corbett, the current Chairman of UK-listed firms Betfair, Britvic and Moneysupermarket.com. Numis said that it is now looking for two new non-executive directors and expects to make an announcement "in due course".BC
