(Sharecast News) - Scisys Group's German business on Thursday won a contract with the European Space Agency for monitoring and control (M&C) system tailoring services for the European Space Agency Tracking Network (EStrack).The contract has an anticipated value of €2.8m and will last until 2023, with an option for an extension of an additional five years.EStrack, which has been a customer of Scisys since 2007, is a network of ground stations equipped with a central M&C system that support space missions, with the central system allowing for a high level of automation.The AIM-traded company's German business will be responsible for maintaining the operational status of the automated M&C system, while also continuing to evolve and expand it to allow for the deployment of new devices.Klaus Heidrich, chief executive of Scisys, said: "I am pleased to announce this significant strategic win by Scisys' Space division in Germany. Scisys is proud to have supported Estrack for more a decade and this latest contract is testament to our position as trusted partners and suppliers of ground-segment solutions. Congratulations go to all the teams involved."Scisys' shares were up 2.39% at 171.50p at 1309 GMT.
