Schroder UK Growth Fund outperformed the FTSE All-Share during the third quarter, though a big stake in Burberry has hurt the shares in recent days. The ordinary share price total return in the three months to 31 January was 7.8% and net asset total return was 6% compared with a 4.2% increase in the FTSE All-Share Total Return Index. In the six months to 31 October the ordinary share price total return was 7.6% versus 4.2% for the All-Share.Net asset value per ordinary share was 141.09p at the end of January, but the shares have fallen 6% in the past week.Things haven't been helped by £7.75m of Burberry shares sitting in the portfolio. The expensive coats and handbags company has lost £380m in value since the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.Financials and miners, which make up a third of the portfolio, have also struggled in the wake of the disaster.
